We went all out for the 30th anniversary of this wine – it's kind of bananas! Our goal was simple: make it a wine to celebrate 30 years and honor our founder Henry Mayo. So, we went for 100% malolactic fermentation and a mix of 50% New Oak and 50% one-year-old oak. The result? A wine that is as delicious as it gets. All of the judges at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair agree on that unanimously. This is a rich, creamy, full-bodied wine with acidity to balance the creamy, yeasty mid palate from the weekly batonnage (a good stir in the French Oak barrels). This helps bring this wine the depth, richness and complexity that undoubtedly led to the win the Double Gold Medal. This is a fitting tribute to the one and only Henry Mayo. He planted these vines back in 1990, and we released the first vintage in 1993. Three decades later, here's to Henry and the delicious journey we've had so far!
